Online course series features Brian McLaren

December 13, 2021

Earlier this year, we joined together with author and activist, Brian McLaren, to study his latest book, “Faith After Doubt.” What a great experience

After hearing so many requests for more time with Brian, we reached out to him and his colleagues at Convergence to explore next steps.

Now we are excited to announce that beginning in January 2022, New England clergy and laity are invited to participate in all or any one of four self-paced online courses taught by Brian and the Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis, senior pastor of Middle Collegiate Church in New York City.

About the courses

The courses are self-paced via video. They are available for you to view at any time once your register on the following topics:
  • Church Impact
  • Your Message Matters
  • Curating Change
  • Your Congregation as a School of Love
For each topic, there will be a live online event with Brian where he will dive deeper into the ideas explored in the course and take questions. The live events will begin at 7 pm on:
  • Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022 — Church Impact
  • Tuesday, April 5, 2022 — Your Message Matters
  • Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022 — Curating Change
  • Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022 — Your Congregation as a School of Love
Supported by the Conference, these courses are free to participants. You can register for the courses using the button below. Once you are enrolled in the class, you will be given information about how to access live sessions.

In order to get the most out of these live conversations, you are encouraged to complete as much of the course material as possible in advance of the live session.

We hope you will be a part of this exciting program as Brian helps us imagine moving from "organized religion" to "organizing religion" in our churches.
